70 Million! That’s the number of people anticipated to be attending Expo 2010 in Shanghai, which as can be imagined is a huge event.
That coupled with the fact that Liverpool is one of only a small number of cities to have been invited to exhibit at the event makes it fantastic opportunity to showcase the area on the world stage.
Wirral Borough Council’s involvement stems from the fact that Peel Holdings, the company behind the Wirral Waters development is one of the major sponsors of the Expo and will be using this unique opportunity to promote Wirral Waters to potential investors. To this end Peel Holdings have asked that officers from Wirral Borough Council accompany them to the event in order to demonstrate to potential investors that there is strong support from Wirral Borough Council for their plans.
The opposition to this from Wirral Tories just goes to prove that the Tories simply aren’t fit enough to manage a smile, let alone run the Authority.
